Fresh Snow, Black Dirt - song

Updated: Mar 31, 2021

I saw fresh snow draped all over the black dirt plain

Reminded me so much of love, of love in vain

I heard a crow cawing as the snow was falling

A lonely cry, like a lost soul calling

In the forest, trees are holding their breath

In winter’s grip, roots mingled beneath

The breweries were busy after a snowtime tizzy

Homebound peeps ready for sumpin fizzy

I ordered something strong and mighty dark

To lift my spirits, to hit the mark

People were chatting, laughing and smiles

Humanity helping us forget our lil trials

I began to think about some of the good times

The salsa of life and the juice of limes

I saw fresh snow draped all over the black dirt plain

Reminded me so much of love, of love in vain
